Support Groups

Our support groups are designed to support recovery with deep dives into specific topics. Learn, connect with others, and develop skills and tools.

These virtual groups are kept small to increase comfort and participation. Groups are led by a variety of facilitators, including Dietitians, Therapists, and others.

All groups are open to those living in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland. Some groups are available in other parts of Canada so check individual listings for details. Subsidies are available so that cost is not a barrier for anyone.

Riding The Wave: Emotions and Recovery

Eight Week Group

Join Alyssa Walsh, Certified Canadian Counsellor and person with lived experience, for a five week skills group on emotional regulation.

  • Learn about the basics of feelings and emotions: what are they, how do they happen, and their function

  • Explore themes of overwhelm and avoidance

  • Look at the socio-cultural influences that disconnect us from our emotions

Alyssa will share some of her favourite grounding and coping skills, and will support participants to build up their own “toolbox” of their favourites.

Through activities, education, and conversation, you can expect to get to know your own emotions a little bit better, have a few more tools to support yourself, and learn about emotional regulation both in general and in relation to disordered eating.

Next group runs May 6 to June 24 from 7:00-9:00 pm Atlantic time.

Eight Week Group: $75-$300 (sliding scale).

This group is open to anyone 16+ living in Canada.
