Our Family and Friends Peer Support Groups are monthly meetings that are led by parents who have been there through the ups and downs of caring for someone with an eating disorder. These groups are open to any one who cares for someone with an eating disorder – family, partner or friend.
Group members can:
- share strategies and successes
- build coping skills
- explore new self care practices
- increase knowledge of eating disorders and health services and support specific to eating disorders
- give and receive support
- reduce isolation
- build hope
Groups do not offer medical or clinical advice but they provide a safe place for peer-to-peer sharing, support, education, guidance, encouragement, and to offer HOPE as we support our loved ones toward recovery.
All supports are offered free of charge.
